OAuth is additive only

Rule: Connecting X (OAuth) must not be required for Free mode, BYOK, or agent x402 report access. OAuth unlocks extra capabilities for humans:
  • Self profile and authenticated gathers
  • Compose / publish
  • Features that need user-context X scopes
It does not gate:
  • Using Free shared credentials (when Free is on)
  • Using your own Venice key
  • Agent GET /api/intel/list and /api/intel/reports (menu or paid)
If something in the UI feels like “you must Connect X first” for basic Free/BYOK work, that is a bug — not the intended product rule.

Agents

Agents never go through OAuth for the report SKU. Payment is x402 only on paid selects.
